
Solomon Agaje is an award winning Registered Clinical Psychologist in good standing and a Fellow Member of the College of Alberta Psychologists. His journey in mental health care has been guided by a deep commitment to supporting individuals through complex emotional and psychological challenges with compassion, integrity, and evidence-based care.
He holds a Master of Philosophy in Applied Psychology from the University of Oslo. He brings a wealth of experience from diverse clinical settings, including a community outpatient mental health clinic with Recovery Alberta (previously Alberta Health Services), a military mental health clinic with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Healing By Talking Program of the Government of Nunavut, and Telus Health. He has also worked in crisis intervention programs, urgent mental health centres and community mental health outreach teams.
His areas of expertise include providing individual and group psychotherapy for individuals facing severe and persistent psychological disorders. He has treated people who struggle with persistent depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, trauma-related conditions, personality structures/disorders, substance use disorders, and psychotic disorders. He takes a special interest in treating personality disorders, ADHD and autism spectrum conditions.
Solomon holds certifications in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT for PTSD), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR), and other modalities. Solomon employs an integrative and eclectic approach, tailoring therapeutic interventions to each client’s unique needs by blending proven modalities.
In addition to his clinical practice, Solomon Agaje offers leadership, consultation, supervision, and training, with a strong emphasis on refugee mental health. He is especially passionate about working with marginalized and underserved populations and is dedicated to helping fellow practitioners build cultural competence and trauma-informed care practices.
Solomon's therapeutic approach focuses on helping clients explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to foster insight, resilience, and psychological flexibility. He helps clients develop skills that reduce the impact of distressing thoughts and feelings, clarify values, and support meaningful personal growth.
Solomon believes that therapy is a collaborative and empowering process. He aims to create a safe, supportive environment where individuals can draw upon their strengths, cultivate new skills, and move toward greater well-being and fulfillment.
